Route Isla Khong – Tadlo – Luang Prabang – Xieng Khouang – Vientiane

 Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Pakse – Wat Phu – Khong Island

Once you arrive, you will be met and transferred to the port to visit Wat Phu temple, temple – Pre Angkor, Khmer temple, Khmer pagoda, Buddhist pagodas. After lunch, you will drive to Khong Island, the largest in the area of the 4000 islands, on the way you will stop at the village of Ban Phone Saat. Overnight on Khong Island. 

 Day 2: Khong Island – The Surrounding Area (B)

After breakfast, you will enjoy the cruise to explore the beautiful scenery of the Mekong River. On the way, stop at Liphi waterfall, and then you can visit the fishing village of Ban Done Khone. On the way back, you will drive to the Laos-Cambodia border at Weukham Port, to see Khone Phapheng, the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia, known as East Niagra. Overnight on Khong Island. 

 Day 3: Khong Island – Tadlo (B)

Today you will continue to the Tadlo, through the Boloven plateau. This trip will give you the opportunity to discover the beauty of the ancient and little-known areas of Laos, enjoying the wild beauty of southern Laos. Upon arrival at Tad Lo waterfall, you will visit the village of Alange and Katu, place of residence of ethnic minority groups. Overnight in Tadlo. 

 Day 4: Tadlo – Pakse – Flight to Luang Prabang (B)

After breakfast, you will ride an Asian elephant to visit the beautiful Tadlo waterfall, and the small village of Khmu and then go to the airport for the flight to Luang Prabang. Once you arrive, you will discover the beauty of the city as you walk the streets and visit the night market. Overnight in Luang Prabang. 

 Day 5: Luang Prabang – Pakou – Luang Prabang (B)

After breakfast, you will visit the oldest temple in the city Wat Sene and Wat Xiengthong. You can then sail on the Mekong River against the current, on the way, stopping at Ban Xang Hai village, famous for its production of local rice liquor. You will also have time to visit Ban Xang Khong, Ban Xienglek, the small villages famous for hand silk weaving and paper. Overnight in Luang Prabang. 

 Day 6: Luang Prabang – Kuang Si Waterfall (B)

After breakfast, you will visit the Phosi Market, then the local villages of the ethnic minorities in Ban Quay and Ban Thapene. You will continue by car to the beautiful Kuang Si waterfall, a famous weaving village and then back to the city to watch the sunset at Wat Phabath. Overnight in Luang Prabang. 

 Day 7: Luang Prabang – Xieng Khouang (B)

After breakfast, you will visit the National Museum (closed on Tuesday) and the Central Market, and then drive 306 kilometers to the surrounding Xieng Khouang Mountains. There, you can visit the Plain of Jars, an archaeological site with hundreds of stone jars, large and small, scattered on the plateau. If you have time, you can visit the ancient capital of Muang Khoun and nearby villages. Overnight in Xieng Khouang. 

 Day 8: Xieng Khouang – Flight to Vientiane (B)

After breakfast, you will visit the central market, then go to the airport to catch the flight to Vientiane. After check-in, if you have time, you can explore the surroundings of Vientiane, visit the Laos – Thailand Friendship Bridge and Buda Park. A day will be perfect if at the end you can contemplate the spectacular sunset on the Mekong River. Overnight in Vientiane. 

 Day 9: Vientiane (B)

After breakfast, we will continue exploring the capital, Vientiane, visiting the tourist places of the city, such as the ancient temple of Wat Sisaket, the ancient royal temple of Wat Prakeo, the National Monument and the Laos Mausoleum and the Patuxay tomb. After lunch, you will continue walking to visit the rest of the city, such as Wat Ong Tue, Wat Inpengy Wat Haisok, passing by the shopping center and continuing to the Central Market Talad Sao and Talad Kouadin where many kinds of goods are sold. You will return to the Mekong River Coast in the afternoon to watch the sunset. Overnight in Vientiane. 

 Day 10: Vientiane – Departure (B)

Free time until the time of transfer to the airport for the return flight.
